Revolut Secures Cyprus MiCA License to Expand Crypto Services Across EU
Revolut has obtained a pivotal MiCA license from Cypriot regulators, cementing its position to offer cryptocurrency services across the European Union. The fintech giant, serving 65 million customers globally, now counts 14 million active crypto users—22% of its client base.
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission granted the authorization under the EU's Markets in Crypto-Assets framework on October 23. This regulatory passport eliminates the need for country-by-country approvals, allowing Revolut to deploy crypto products seamlessly across all 27 member states.
With its crypto division emerging as a key growth driver, the $75 billion company outpaces competitors in adapting to MiCA regulations. Revolut's early 2017 bet on digital assets has matured into a Core business pillar, with European expansion gaining momentum.
